How it All Started

At a very young age, my grandmother kept me occupied while she ran her home catering business. I loved to sit on the couch looking through her button box. In those day's, nothing was thrown away without removing buttons and zippers, because they could be reused. I was mesmerized with the colors, shapes, sounds, and the varying textures. By the age of 6, I was allowed to sew fabric strips together, which eventually became rag rugs. That was the beginning of my love for sewing.

By the age of 10, I began sewing for myself and taking on my first clients. I would stay up late on Saturday nights to get my new dress completed to wear for Sunday morning church service.

I joined 4-H and for several years, I took sewing and cooking projects to the county fairs, receiving blue ribbons. I continued sewing through my college years and into motherhood. In January 2001, I decided to finally open a business to help support my family while being a stay at home mom.

I believe that God gives everyone a talent and a passion and he helped me find and grow in my skills. Beside the 4-H instruction, I received mentoring from Annette Togliatti.

In the past 14 years, my focus and skills in alterations has revolved around bridal and formal wear. It brings me a great deal of joy and satisfaction to help bring the ideas and visions of each of my clients to life.

In 2020, the business had grown so much that I needed a few extra hands to help around the sewing studio. The following spring, my daughter, Hanna, accepted the role of secretary and has been learning to become a seamstress as well.  What once was just a dream, has turned into a 3 generation family business.
